A Detection Dog is a dog that is trained to use its sense of smell to detect a specific odour, in the case of a Drug or Narcotic dog it would be for example Cannabis, Ecstasy, Heroin, Methamphetamine, Cocaine, LSD, Amphetamines, and Hash. It is then taught to indicate that it has detected the these specific odours. Our dogs indicate by sitting.
The dogs work hard in their role as part of a drug dog detection team. When teamed with a handler that is motivated and consistent, the drug dog will perform well in all environments. Drug detection dogs are a valuable asset to any employer, parent or teacher serious about maintaining a drug free environment.
