Fire Scene Investigation Dogs - Arson Dogs
The use of a trained arson dog, (a dog that is trained to find the odour released from accelerants used in a fire), greatly reduces the man-hours required to complete a fire scene investigation. The dogs initially detect the stratification of the odour and then follow it to the source. This saves the Investigator having to dig for the odour. Countless tests, both in the workplace, and in training have been performed on
these dogs to ensure accuracy and they continuously prove their worth. We train our Arson detection dogs using SOKKS-MPTS. This is a pure odour product and it was used for example to train Bavarian Police first ever Arson Detection Dog. The dog has had many finds and even though it is getting on years has proven itself many times over. The main benefits in using a fire scene investigation dog are the speed that the dog can search an area and the accuracy of determining a relevant odour. |
