A detection dog is a dog that is trained to use its sense of smell to detect a a specific odour. It is then taught to indicate to the handler that it has detected the odour.
Everyone has there preference’s on the types of dogs used as well.
We have trained the following breeds as Drug Detection dogs; Labradors, Beagles, Border Collies, Belgian Malinois, German
Shepherds and even the Rottweiler. All have made excellent drug detection dogs. |
