Hi Everyone,
Just a bit of news and a few “thank yous” to dish out after a very eventful week. As some of you may know we are lucky enough to be providing training for Sunshine Coast locals (and their dogs) on the beach at The Town of Seaside. This has been to assist the community with the control and behavior of their dogs after part of the beach became an off leash area.
I’d like to say thanks to everyone that has participated in the first two sessions and I’ve really enjoyed the enthusiasm. We have had a great time on the beach and it has been rewarding seeing such a variety of dogs responding well to our techniques. All of the owners have been a pleasure to work with and are making great progress. One thing that stands out for me is the mix of ages who have been attending, everyone from primary age kids through to retirees have been involved!
So far we have covered techniques to help relax the dogs under a variety of stimulus and are working towards calm and gaining more control. As the lessons progress so will the level of training and we are aiming to up skill the owners so they are able to take our techniques home and apply them to different situations.
I’m looking forward to our next sessions and can’t wait to see how everyone is progressing getting on. Just quickly I’d like to thank all of those who have participated again, as well as the council and staff for helping organize the responsible dog ownership initiative.
All the best and I’ll see you down the
Regards,

THANKYOU BLAIR!
I rang the K9 Centre in despair, following a serious dog aggressive incident whereby my 2 year old aussie bulldog, Boaz, attacked my 14 year old sharpai, Rosie-Belle. The attack was so severe that I initially thought I could no longer deal with Boaz’ behaviours, and I would have to consider another home for him.
I was so impressed by the service offered by the K9 Centre. I’d contacted the Brisbane centre and the gentleman there directed my enquiry for help to Blair. Blair promptly contacted me and during this initial phone conversation, put my mind at rest as he explained the possible reasons for Boaz’ behaviour and a course of action to remedy this.
Blair’s understanding of canine behavior is unsurpassable and his firm but kind and respectful manner in handling the dogs and educating the owner is brilliant. I undertook the ‘at home’ training sessions, and with each, my confidence as the handler of my dogs grew and the changed behaviours of the dogs and particularly Boaz’ was remarkable. The training sessions taught me how to be, as I need to be, in order to enjoy the relationship with my dogs and in particular, to feel confident with the 25 kilograms of pure exuberant and previously uncontrollable bulldog.
The changes in the dynamics of our canine family are incredible as they all now get along and actually listen to me. With the changes I needed to make in the handling of Boaz and the ‘pack’ in general, I have gone from stressed to blessed! I thought mine was a hopeless situation but thanks to Blair’s guidance, I am now an empowered dog owner. I sincerely recommend anyone with concerns about their dog’s behaviours or to anyone wanting the best interactions with their dogs to contact Blair. Thank you Blair.

Hi Blair, I Just wanted to thank you for your advice – the sleepover went much better than expected, my friends dog was really naughty and cheeky but the good news is both of my dogs were well behaved. I can certainly see improvements after your training which only boosts my confidence and confirms that if I stick to the training it will work!
Thanks Mandy, Buderim, Sunshine Coast Queensland.
