The K9 Centre’s Head Trainer, Martin Dominick has the following Qualifications and Awards:

  • Former member of the Royal Australian Air Force ( R.A.A.F ) Police Dog Squad. His role was as a RAAF Police Dog Handler and Trainer. A role Nationally Recognised and Certified by the Australian Government.
  • Recipient of the “Instructors Award” while in the R.A.A.F for attitude and dedication to his work.
  • Recipient of many commendations for his work within the K9 security field both domestic and international.
  • Co-founder for the first explosives license course for dog trainers to hold explosives for training.
  • Certificate IV Workplace Assessment and Training
  • Head Instructor for an overseas Presidential K9 Unit. This position entails monitoring the training assessment and ongoing certification of the K9 Unit’s Handlers, Detection dogs and V.I.P. Protection Dogs.
  • Internationally Certified Micro Particle Detection Dog Trainer (SOKKS – MPTS)
  • Australian Blue Card Holder
  • Maritime Security Identification Card Holder – MSIC
  • International Advisory Board Member for the Center for Behavioural Sciences of Canines (CSC). Martin holds an academic certification as a canine odour source detection dog trainer and assessor.  The standards employed are internationally approved  Military and Police Standards that are certified by the CSC.

As part of the services provided through his K9 businesses, Martin has:

  • Trained and supplied for various government departments overseas. These include drug detection dogs, quarantine dogs, explosives detection dogs and general duty police dogs.
  • Conducted handler courses for those departments as well and regularly conducts maintenance-training programs to ensure compliance.
  • Develop front line K9 Capability for high-risk commercial properties. Both explosive detection and VIP Protection dogs are trained and supplied along with the necessary handler training and maintenance programs.
  • Developed drug detection and general duties corrective services dogs for a prison system in Australia.
  • Security and Explosive detection dogs for the N.S.W. State Rail Authority.
  • Provided First Responder K9 Units the NSW Department of Education.
  • Trained over 25 individually owned Termite Detection Dogs for members of the Pest Control and building industry in Australia and abroad.
  • Trained Australia’s first Termite Detection Dogs for timber power pole   inspections – Country Energy now know as Essential Energy.
  • Trained guard/dog teams for general patrol work.
  • Trained the security protection dogs – Solomon Islands Gold Ridge Mine.
  • Provide Explosives Detection Dog services for major commercial clients infrastructure sites and s for other private Australian Businesses
  • Trained 1000’s of family pets over the last 27 years that were lost causes or on the verge of death row.
  • Trained dogs for the disabled …Wheelchair companions and for the severely disabled.
  • Supplied and or trained dogs for television starring in Home and Away, Totally Wild, A Current Affair, Today Tonight, Brisbane Extra, Today and The Morning Show
  • Currently developing an Australian first franchise system that covers the services outlined on this website.
